The World Bids Farewell to The Ellen Show

After 19 years and more than 3000 episodes, one of our ultimate fav pieces of entertainment, ‘The Ellen Show’ has officially come to an end. Over the years, the global talk show sensation shared loads of viral moments, inside celebrity scoop, live music performances and unforgettable mini games which had us both laughing and crying for days. We are super sad to say goodbye to a total gem of the entertainment world, which officially closed its doors on 26th May 2022.

The Ellen Show was an incredibly successful venture which picked up a total of 64 Daytime Emmy Awards during its reign. Although it’s true that host, Ellen DeGeneres, received stick in recent times for mistreating her work team, the entertainer has pulled off one of the most successful shows of all time, and for that, deserves loads of praise and celebration. She has been a strong force of upliftment in the community and donated an admirable amount towards helping families and people in need. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Ellen DeGeneres was also a really big source of inspiration for many.

Unfortunately, in more recent times, quite a few staff members came forward with allegations which swept away the talk show host’s shine and admiration. She was accused of driving a toxic workplace culture while ignoring the wellbeing of her employees. This led to an irreversible decline in viewership and the ultimate decision to end The Ellen Show for good. We bid farewell to a legendary show, with levels of entertainment that will be tricky for any successor to match. It feels right to say that this officially marks the end of an era!
