The Most Aesthetic Food Spots in the Mother City
Cape Town is home to some incredible restaurants that deliver on delicious food AND a 10/10 aesthetic. This city is a total style icon of its own. From insanely charming architecture to super cute colour palettes, the eye candy (excuse the pun) couldn't be more on point. So without further ado, here are some of the most aesthetic foodie finds that the Mother city has to offer...
1 - Café Chiffon
Café Chiffon’s aesthetic is simply on another level. The charming, large windows and yellow paint job on the building exterior makes it stand out to the max! Once you enter into the space, you’ll become even more obsessed with the cute design and crazy attention to detail.
This Asian inspired dessert café and cake boutique is truly one-of-a-kind. We’ve never experienced anything like it in the Mother City. Offering the tastiest and most aesthetic cake and dessert selection, you just gotta visit them to see what the hype is all about!
2 - Tjing Tjing
Located in the Cape Town city centre, this food spot delivers on an amazing food and beverage menu as well as a seriously impressive aesthetic. The restaurant building has three different storeys, each with their very own design!
As you enter the restaurant, you’ll be welcomed by some super retro neon lights and Japanese comic-style graphics. Head on up the stairs to the second floor for a super suave all-black interior with super sombre vibes. Over on the rooftop, you’ll find Japanese-style architecture with a traditional wooden roof that oozes so much character.
3 - Our Local
Plant paradise is the only way to describe Our Local. This super funky open-plan restaurant can be found inside a rustic shed on Kloof Street (in the city centre). Packed with the most luscious plants and vintage finds with chairs and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, it’s a super unique food spot you gotta try out. Their menu is also really delish and can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner (on certain days of the week).
Not only is the decor absolutely insane, but many of the decorative items are actually for sale! That’s right, you can purchase a plant or two, or maybe a vintage painting to add to your own living space. This is eating out done right!
4 - Moro Gelato
Escape to gelato heaven by heading over to a Moro Gelato store near you! The super cute gold finishings and soft colour tones makes this a hang out spot to remember. The entire space is so bright and inviting, not to mention the gelato is almost too good to be true.
Moro Gelato has a number of locations across the city including: Seapoint, Greenpoint, Long Street and Stellenbosch. They offer many delish flavour varieties and always keep things fresh and exciting with a new menu every single week. It’s not just a super aesthetic food spot but also serves up extremely delish gelato.
5 - Egghead
This cosy inner city diner, Egghead, is a visual masterpiece to say the least. The mustard sitting booths and warm wooden finishings makes it a scene from the 70's. Lined with many admirable finds such as record players, vintage books and yellow tinted windows - the attention to detail deserves loads of praise.
Egghead’s bold aesthetic continues across every part of the restaurant all the way to the presentation of the food, the actual condiment bottles and the style of the menu. This is a food spot in the Mother City that takes design super seriously, and we’re totally here for it!
It's hard to believe that all these pretty spots can be found right here in the Mother City! We are totally spoilt with the best of the best - all the reason to dine out to the max and not feel bad about it.
