The Lost City: Film Review
Updated: Aug 22, 2022
Sandra Bullock has definitely secured a position in our list of fav Hollywood actresses. She has a habit of featuring in the most hilarious comedy films and we’re not complaining! We will never forget her epic display of an FBI agent alongside Melissa McCarthy in 2013 comedy ‘The Heat’. And what about the actress’s role alongside Ryan Reynolds in ‘The Proposal’, an absolute classic to say the least!
When we heard that another comedy film had been released with the American actress as the lead role, we just had to drop everything and head over to the cinema ASAP. The movie was released in SA at the end of March 2022 and let’s just say that our gal did not disappoint.
‘The Lost City’ is an adventure/action comedy with a super impressive cast of A-list Hollywood stars. The film focuses on a struggling author ‘Loretta Sage’ (Sandra Bullock) who writes about exotic locations and storylines that feature a heart throb male protagonist (Channing Tatum). While promoting her latest book release, things take a sudden turn and Loretta finds herself on a very unexpected adventure.
We really appreciated the unique storyline and humour used in this film. The movie presented the perfect balance between: action, adventure, romance and comedy. What also made it so enjoyable and refreshing was the absence of cheesy humour and cliche events, which are aspects that seem to be pretty common in comedic films these days.
If you’ve been craving a trip to the cinema of late, then the release of this film should be the tipping point that gets you there! Head on over to a Nu Metro or Ster Kinekor branch near you for an undoubtedly entertaining production.
