Brand New Food Spots in the Mother City

The Cape Town food scene is buzzing and no one is complaining! The Mother City’s culinary space has always offered loads of choice and variety. This is only becoming more and more true as new exciting restaurants enter into the fray. Here is a snapshot of some of these amazing foodie hangouts that have just been introduced to the local food scene and are too good to ignore.


1 - Silk Asian Fusion


Inspired by the ancient silk route, this exciting new restaurant brings together the East and the West with delicious small plate-style dishes. Located in the city centre at the Heritage Square building, this food spot has already proved to be incredibly popular with local foodies securing dinner bookings like no tomorrow. Serving up many delish asian favourites such as: potstickers, bao buns, spring rolls and more - there is an entire menu of tasty plates awaiting your approval.



2 - Safehouse


Safehouse is a vibrant nightclub and eatery in the city centre. They serve up a simple and no-fuss menu of gourmet sandwiches, sides and shakes with many tasty alcoholic beverages also on offer. Enjoy some solid down time at this energetic space by paying them a visit for some after-work drinks or a weekend pick-me-up. Groove to live music acts with your sidekicks and take in everything that the venue has to offer.


3 - Jenna’s


There’s a brand new healthy eatery on the fabulous Regent Road of Seapoint, which you just gotta try out. Jenna’s is the name and it’s a hangout that’s all about creating a happy and healthy community. Serving up well sourced, sustainable and organic produce in a bright and inviting setting, this spot will have you feeling so fresh and revitalised as soon as you walk in. 4 - How’s Your Oni


This food spot initially started its operations at the lovely Oranjezicht Market. However, after proving to be a complete hit amongst the local foodie fraternity, they took the next step and opened up their very own restaurant space in Gardens. How’s Your Oni is known for their amazing homemade gourmet Onigiri, a Japanese rice parcel with various tasty fillings. This newly opened restaurant also serves up: ramen, tempura, miso soup and many other tasty food menu items inspired by eastern culture.


5 - Salon Potluck


Serving a modern take on French canapes, clever cocktails and fine wines in an ultra stylish space - Salon Potluck is a feast for the senses. This exceptionally well decorated space takes on a traditional old-world style vibe with gold fixtures and leather seating. This new restaurant can be found at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock and delivers on an incredibly luxurious food experience that is sure to impress.
