A Visit To The Oranjezicht Night Market

Updated: Oct 20, 2023

There are very few better places to be than the beautiful city of Cape Town when the summer season swings around. This is the time when the city has its best face on without a doubt! The Mother City knows how to celebrate the warm weather to the max with loads of festivals, events and markets happening all over. One such market that is a real favourite amongst locals and visitors alike, is the Oranjezicht Night Market. We are so pleased to welcome it back along with the sight of summer!

The Oranjezicht Market is located in Granger Bay which is right next to the amazing V&A Waterfront. This cosmopolitan and ultra classy farmer’s market is a lovely outing that promises good food, good vibes and many shopping opportunities. Although it’s open all year round with a weekend offering, the night market specifically, is only something that operates during the warmer months of the year. It offers a totally different vibe with a strong social buzz and a happy-go-lucky energy.

Many locals love to stop by the market for a sundowner drink or two after work, and plus, a little midweek outing is never a bad idea! This is truly the best place to enjoy a laid back dinner on the go and mingle with your mates before taking on the rest of the week. The warmer weather provides just another excuse to leave your living quarters and be free from cabin fever.

Happening from 5pm-9pm, this fab market venue sells a variety of incredible goodies including an organic selection of fruits and vegetables, freshly baked sweet treats, handcrafted goods, gifting possibilities and way more. Beyond the shopping zone is a food tent filled with delicious stalls that are always cooking up a storm and a half. The dinner options are totally overwhelming, but c’mon, what a good problem that is to have! Be sure to head on over some time soon to welcome the summer season with a bang.
