A Visit To PAUL Bakery

Cape Town is certainly a city with its fair share of international flair. The melting pot of cultures, vibrant food scene and cosmopolitan energy are all testament to that. With visitors from all over the globe, it's no wonder that so many international brands have set their sights on the Mother City. With that being said, the latest name to enter the Cape Town fray is the one and only PAUL’s bakery!

PAUL is a family owned bakery and restaurant that offers it all! From pastries, snacks and cafe- style beverages to lunch, dinner and alcoholic drinks. The vibey atmosphere truly makes it a one-of-a-kind bakery experience. Based at the V&A Waterfront, this venue is all about people, community and great food that is served with a French flair.

The very first PAUL bakery opened up way back in 1889 in the romantic city of Paris. It has since grown into an entire chain of locations in South Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Fast forward all the way to 2023 and Cape Town gets its very first PAUL stamp of approval!

Step inside this warm and welcoming space and instantly get transported to France. There’s a scent of buttery pastries and freshly-made bread lingering through the air. The window display of cakes, tarts, macarons and more is also something that you’ve gotta witness yourself! Not to mention, a super cutely decorated venue with Parisian artwork, vintage wallpaper and very comfy seating. Next time you find yourself spending time at the V&A Waterfront, pop by for a lovely lunch or sweet indulgence.
