Updated: Aug 22, 2022
It is no doubt that Cape Town’s food scene is a vision to behold. The city boasts the widest variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and cafés that offer the highest levels of satisfaction. This often leads to maximum confusion, even amongst the locals, when deciding on a spot to tantalise the taste buds. So, let us completely take the guesswork out of your hunger buster trips, by turning your attention to one of the city’s newest gems, Kanela Café.
A Greek inspired café that offers the most charming setting, Kanela Café is quickly becoming an absolute fav amongst both locals and travellers alike. This must-visit eatery shares a space with ‘The Greek Fisherman’ restaurant and is located in a super enchanting building with loads of history. It’s immense character and inviting atmosphere makes it one of our go to spots to visit.
Kanela Café (which in Greek translates to ‘Cinnamon Cafe’) was founded by two siblings with a strong background in hospitality. It is located in the heart of Seapoint and offers an incredibly tasty menu that features classic brunch meal options alongside the yummiest Greek treats. Sustainability is an important focus for Kanela Café who creates the most delish vegan and vegetarian options. We just gotta pay a special mention to their smoothie bowls, which look and taste absolutely insane (in the best way possible). Operating from 7am until 3pm, if you wanna transport yourself to Europe for a couple of hours, then without a doubt, this is the place to visit.
